Today on TCM:

My next recommendation is one of those lesser known films noir with a most appropriate title: Impact (1949). One can experience this captivating little cinematic explosive, previously reviewed here, in host Eddie Muller's Noir Alley Saturday, July 8 at 9 pm PDT and again on Sunday, July 9 at 7 am PDT.

Currently available on Watch TCM (for at least another 5 days), is the remarkably understated, albeit compelling, racial drama Intruder in the Dust also released in 1949. Still deserving of more critical acclaim, this filmed adaptation of literary giant William Faulkner’s novel has been reviewed as a DVD recommendation here.
